Good morning, good people!
May the Risen Lord give you peace. It is 03rd May 2025. We reflect on 1 Corinthians 15:1–8 and John 14:6–14.
We celebrate the Feast of Saints Philip and James, Apostles, two humble apostles who, though different in style and story, shared one mission: To bring others to the Way, the Truth, and the Life—Jesus Christ.
“The Church exists to evangelise. If we are not bringing people to Jesus, then we are not living our faith. It’s not about proselytising—it’s about lighting the path of love.” — Pope Francis, Address on Evangelisation, 2013
A man once wandered through thick fog, searching for the way home. His candle was tiny, barely lighting his feet. As he stumbled on, he found another lost traveller. The man held up his little candle and said, “Walk beside me. It’s not much light, but enough for two.” Soon others joined. One candle, then two, then five. Suddenly the fog didn’t seem so thick. They all found the road—together. Just like Saints Philip and James, we are not asked to light the whole world alone. Just to lift our small light and walk with others.
Just like them, our call as believers is to lead others to Jesus, especially those searching for life, light, and truth in a world of noise and confusion.
Yes, belief may begin with struggle, but it must end in surrender. Like Philip, who once said, “Show us the Father,” we too might hesitate. But Jesus responds with love: “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father… I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6, 9)
Every believer is a bridge between Jesus and others. Not just receivers of the Word, but connectors to God. Faith is not static; it grows—nourished and strengthened by sincere evangelisation and daily conversion.
Philip and James were not perfect—but they were persistent. They stayed the course. We too are called to stay faithful in all life situations.
Evangelisation begins with familiarity with God’s Word—then blossoms into action. Our past may be sinful or scattered, but grace transforms us into witnesses of the Resurrection.
Without knowing and loving Jesus, it becomes hard to truly know and love God. May your words echo the truth; May your actions reflect the light; And may your life point the way.
Be like Philip and James—Not perfect, but present. Not mighty, but faithful. Not silent but shining.
Have a peaceful and blessed day. God bless you.
