It is 10th April 2021.
The readings are from Acts 4:13-21; and the Gospel from Mark 16:9-15.
Not expressions but experience of the Lord for evangelizing.
Without a profound and personal experience with Jesus, we cannot preach about Him. To experience we need to be with Him qualitatively.
Saints Peter and John were put under trial for preaching about Jesus and they were warned not to preach. “For we cannot keep from speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts (4:20). Ordinary fishermen were challenging the belief system by their preaching about Jesus is alive. We cannot keep quiet when we have met the risen Lord in our life. The Easter time is to refresh our belief in the Risen Lord. It is the time to acknowledge the Spirit of God who offers each one of us to be honest with ourselves in believing the Risen Christ.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “I will give thanks to you, Lord, for you have answered me.” (Ps.118:21)
We are all given the mandate to preach the Good News that Jesus is alive even today on the day we were baptised. How serious are we with this responsibility entrusted to us? “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.” (Mk.16:15). We need commitment and communication with the Lord to do this. Preaching without an experience is a waste of time. “If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel!” (1 Cor. 9: 16).
Let us spend time experience the Risen Lord in our relationships found in our families, friends, and community. We experience the Risen Christ in the Sacraments of Salvation and in daily challenges and joys of our life. Do people feel that we have the experience of Jesus, the Risen Lord? Have a lovely day. May God bless you.
