We can never satisfy someone with our words but surely with actions

May the Lord bless with grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 15th December 2021.

May the Lord bless with grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 15th December 2021.  We reflect on Isaiah 45:6-8, 18, 21-26 and Luke 7:19-23.

Expectations expel love towards God and others.  God expects nothing from us not even love.  Hence our worship and belief remain proof of our love towards God not because God wanted just because we would like to demonstrate our love for God in a human way.

The absence of expectation is not healthy and abundance of it destroys happiness.  So, do we need to expect?  Yes, but in moderation and a preparedness to accept all that comes.  Expecting more from us lead us to reach the peak moment of happiness and achievements in our life.

We expect a lot from others because we want something to happen in the way we wish.

“Are you He who is come or are we to expect someone else?” is the question of John the Baptist from prison.  It is surprising indeed to hear such a question from the one who announced the arrival of Messiah.

“Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them.” By announcing the works of the Lord, we strengthen our weakening faith.

We can never satisfy someone with our words but surely with actions.  The Spirit of Advent calls us to recognize Jesus in the poor, and the less known situations of our life.  It is the time to notice the signs and signatures of God in events that unfold and the people we relate to.

May God help us to deal with our overblown expectations that extradite God and others from our life.  God bless you.
