May the Lord give you grace and peace in the Holy Spirit. It is on 05th May 2023.
Are we historic or hysteric?
We reflect on Acts 13:26-33 and John 14:1-6.
Some events of life remain a memory while others are history. History victimizes so many while a few victims emerge as a history. God loves life and promotes it with all His might. God has no intention to destroy what God has cherished in God’s creation. Even if God likes to do away with someone or something, God still offers a breathing moment to change and become the person God envisioned.
The first reading is the continuation of the preaching of St. Paul in which he wanted the listeners to believe that Jesus is the Good News who offers salvation through His death, and resurrection.
Out of ignorance, people put Him to death, but out of love for the entire humanity, God raised Him. God does good leaving proofs. All the recipients are the witnesses of all that God has done in our life are the proof.
The first recipients of the resurrection are the Apostles and the intimate disciples who are the witnesses. By raising Jesus from the dead, God remembered and honoured the promises made to the Father of Faith.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “You are my Son; this day I have begotten you.” (Ps.2:7).
The Gospel strengthens our drooping spirit during this most difficult time of our life. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.” (Jn.14:1).
Even though the doors of generosity are closed, the door of our hearts with love is wide open more than ever. We who believe in humanity begin to believe that our humanity is bigger than all that we treasured so far.
There is always a way out in the Lord. There is always life in the Lord. There is always light at the end of truth. God cannot forget what God created with love. We are the supreme display of God’s love. However clueless, broken, bruised, and brutalized by our intimate, trusted, and loving relationships, the Good News is that we have Jesus who offers Truth, Life, and Light to our life always to all people.
Let us place all our trust in Him who can bring us all out of this mesh of suffering, sickness, and pain. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” May you have a good day. God bless you.
