Good morning good people!

May the Lord give you peace and blessings.  It is 30th May 2025.  We reflect on Acts 18:9–18 and John 16:20–23.

The first reading unveils the emotional and physical suffering that St. Paul endured for the sake of Christ. Fearing for his life, he was strengthened by a divine vision in which the Lord assured him: “Do not be afraid to speak out, and do not allow yourself to be silenced: I am with you.” (Acts 18:9). Encouraged by this divine consolation, Paul continued to preach the Word of God in Corinth with even greater zeal. Having completed his mission there, he set off for Antioch.

This message echoes through the centuries to our own hearts: we must never be afraid to proclaim the Good News of Jesus. Resistance, misunderstandings, and false accusations may come our way. Yet we are not here by chance—we are here with a mission: to be good, and to inspire others to goodness. Let our lives proclaim the Gospel louder than our words. For when we live for Christ, a deep, unshakable joy rises within us.

The responsorial psalm affirms, “God is king of all the earth.” (Psalm 46:8). In the Gospel, Jesus promises that those who suffer for His sake will receive a joy that no one can take away. It is a joy not born of comfort, but of communion with the Risen Lord.

Our sufferings often arise from unjust structures and human sin. Like the disciples, we may not fully grasp that suffering can be a path to resurrection. But to suffer for Jesus is a privilege. Whether in family life, ministry, or community, every moment of self-offering for the good of others is a moment of grace.

To bear suffering joyfully and without complaint—this is a living witness to the Gospel. It is how we make Christ known not just by words, but by the silent radiance of our lives.

May God bless you and fill your day with courage and peace.
