Good morning good people, may the Lord give you peace and blessings in the Holy Spirit.  It is 31st October 2025.  We reflect on Romans 9:1-5 and the Gospel of Luke 14:1-6.

Are we after receptions or exceptions?  Are we rigid or relaxed?

Pope Francis reminds us, “A single individual is enough for hope to exist, and that individual can be you.  Then another person will see your light, and hope will begin in them.”

The first reading speaks of the salvation of the Jews — the offer of salvation to all people who have faith in God through His only Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, beginning with the Jews and extending to the Gentiles.  St. Paul worked tirelessly for the salvation of all, especially for his own people.  Yet, in the end, the chosen ones rejected Christ Jesus, the Messiah.  He was deeply saddened and anguished over their outright rejection of the Good News and of the Messiah.

We are called to spread the fragrance of the goodness of the Lord; it is left to the freedom of others whether to inhale it or not.  When goodness is spread to every corner of the world, everyone will have the opportunity to sense the presence and tenderness of the Lord in one way or another.

Let us never grow weary of spreading the goodness of the Lord.  We must move on and move forward, reaching out to others with the same love that Christ shows us.

The responsorial psalm proclaims, “O praise the Lord, Jerusalem” (Psalm 147:12).

In the Gospel, we are reminded not to give up on others, even when they plot against us.  Despite tremendous rejection and opposition, Jesus never stopped healing and revealing the goodness of God.  Love that heals has no boundaries.  Compassion goes beyond control.

People may oppose you and give up on you — but God never does.  So, let us continue believing and spreading the love and warmth we enjoy in God.  No law can imprison the power of love.

We, too, are invited to spread the fragrance of compassion over comparison, relationship over rigidity, and love over laws.

May you have a blessed and grace-filled day.

May God bless you always.
