We all bear fruit when we realize the guidance and blessings of the Lord in our life

May the Lord give you peace and good health.

It is 11th September 2021.

We reflect on 1 Tim 1:15-17 and the Gospel of Luke 6:43-49.

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the foremost.”  (1 Tim. 1:15).

How hard to acknowledge who is in front of others?  It is extremely hard to own our mistakes and fallenness before people.  We all love the show and boast about our better and the best side of our life.  Some of us have the audacity not only to boast but also to blame others for their brokenness. Being judgmental obstructs us to judge fairly.  “For it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.” (Lk.6:45).  We need to examine our hearts constantly how it leans to be selfish, self-centred, and egoistic in assessing the goodness in others.

It is the Lord who showers us with mercy and love

To recognize ourselves as the greatest sinner in front of the Lord and the people, we begin to appreciate the goodness in others.

A fruitful and well-founded faith in the Lord enables us to acknowledge our sinfulness.   We all bear fruit when we realize the guidance and blessings of the Lord in our life. “No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” (Lk.15:4).  Jesus is the Rock on which we need to lay our life.  He is the Rock from which we have spring of life.  Being aware of our fragmentation in all spheres will allow us to experience integration in others.

May the Lord help us to acknowledge our sinfulness to respect the sinners in the community.  God bless you.
