May the Lord kindly bless you with good health and happiness in the Holy Spirit. It is 30th July 2022.
We reflect on Jeremiah 26:11-16, 24 and Matthew 14:1-12.
We have two persons namely the prophet Jeremiah and Saint John the Baptist who took the stand for God and the truth. Both put their life at risk in disseminating the truth. Hostility, resistance, and refusal to accept the truth make the power of truth much stronger and the need for truth is richer.
To live a truthful and sincere life is not that impossible but challenging to the core.
God never stops instructing our conscience through people, events, and experiences of life. some of us keenly listen and remain blessed. Most of us are led by the noises that convince us to do things as oppose to the voice of God.
None of us become evil, sinful, and segregated from others just overnight. We are not satisfied with the inner power God endowed us with and so we feel insecure most of the time and crave more power, control, wealth, and fame. Lust breeds in the milieu of power; jealousy jams the justice, and pride petrifies poverty and simplicity.
We all need to bear witness to the truth and stand for the truth yet let us do with the conscience of charity. Truth in the absence of prayer and charity is always marred and coloured by selfishness and hidden motives. May God grant us the courage to listen and lead truthful life. God bless you
