May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 7th June 2021.

We reflect from 2 Corinthians 1:1-7; and the Gospel from Matthew 5:1-12.

We are comforted by God times of loss, pain, and suffering.

“Where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Ps. 121:2).

There is no event in our life without the blessings of God happens whether it is painful or happy ones.  God comforts us and strengthen us tells St. Paul so that we have the power and privilege to comfort others in need.

“God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.” (2 Cor. 1:4).  Even today we hear the stories of torture inflicted upon our parents when we think that they are old and redundant.  As a believer call someone in pain, talk to them, relieve their pain, and calm their fear.  God who has strengthened us will provide the means and measure to provide.

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Mt.5:7). “Because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13).

We joyfully praise in the responsorial Psalm: “Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.” (Ps.34:8).  To be a believer is to have an opportunity to show and demonstrate the love, mercy, and forgiveness to everyone whom we are in contact and connect.

Jesus invites us to embrace the attitude of the Kingdom of God by comforting others, being meek, merciful, pure, peacemakers, and working for the justice and truth.  These are the principles and foundations of our life to tell the world about the One whom we have placed our trust.  Yes, it is our turn to comfort others now.  Let us do something to someone who feels God’s love through us.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
