It is 03rd February 2022.  We reflect on 1 Kings 2:1-4, 10-12 and Mark 6:7-13.  We celebrate the memorials of St Blaise, bishop, and martyr; he became famous for blessing ailments of throats.

A master had only one disciple.  As he was getting on in years, he called his only disciple and handed over a precious manuscript and told him that this was handed over to him from the master to master for the seven generations.  He added that he has jotted down a few insights to them, and now it is his turn.  He said that the book was precious and given to him as a faithful successor.  The disciple received the book without opening it in the fire.  The master who never raised his voice shouted at the disciple: what are you doing?  The disciple asked: what are you saying?

There is nothing to pass on, but always there is someone to follow to the end.

We need not be preoccupied with what to pass on and leave for the other if our life would continue to shine.

The last words only remain an inspiration, an insight, hindsight for many, while it opens a path to discovery for a few who wish to listen, discern and

Having a bare minimum for the maximum mission.  A staff and sandal for the journey are constantly reminding our support on God and a journey to complete.  Hoarding and cluttering are the signs that we have lost the master and the path to travel on.

The prophet Isaiah could bold say that “No need to remember past events.  No need to think about what was done before.  Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it?  … The people I have shaped for myself will broadcast my praises.” (Isaiah 43:18-25).

Let us feel light, to be a light to the world.  May God bless you.
