It is 16th September 2020. We celebrate the memorial of St Cornelius, Pope, and St Cyprian, Bishop, Martyrs. The readings are from 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:13; and the Gospel from Luke 7:31-35.
We are the family of God. A family without love is an anomaly. God displays love so visibly in the ambiance of our families. Rigidity and rivalry rust the surface of love. The Church being the Body of Christ cannot be emptied of love by proud and self-obsessed leaders and unrealistic troublemakers.
We are constricted today due to the pandemic everywhere but still being constructed by love.
Everything we treasured in the past are under scrutiny for the past couple of months. All around us might change, but love will remain forever because of its roots are from God.
The waves of love cleanse the heart of faith and hope.
Love is not mere energy, but it is the synergy of being in company with others.
We can learn and outlearn many things from the experiments of life, yet the experiences of love supersede all the rest.
A hymn of love from the first reading assures and strengthens our love for one another and for God. Selfish, sinful and secretive sediments contaminate the springs of love.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “Happy the people the Lord has chosen as his own.” (Ps.33).
The Gospel reiterate that love does not dances to a selfish and self-seeking tune. When we are attuned to the rhythms of the Spirit of God, we begin to practice the values of the Kingdom of God. Refusing to believe in Jesus is the proof of not ready to listen and emulate the love that is displayed on the Cross. Complainers never complement rather like to control. People who echo the love of God enlighten themselves and transform the others. “Nevertheless, wisdom is vindicated by all her children.” (Lk.7:35). Our arrogance, arguments, pride never appear in the expression of true love of God. May our motives and intentions in loving God help us to love the other as God loves. May you have a lovely day. God bless you.
