It is 15th October 2020. We celebrate the memorial of St Teresa of Avila, Virgin and Doctor of the Church. The readings are from Ephesians 1:1-10; and the Gospel from Luke 11:47-54.
Being faithful to Christ is holiness. The purpose of our Christian vocation is to live a holy life without which we are not able to see the plan and will of God.
St. Paul encouraged the Christians at Ephesus to rely on the plan of God. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us.” (Eph. 1:7).
Grace and peace are the direct outcome of our faithfulness to Christ. We all need to live in Christ, through His presence as children of God valuing others as the same, and willing to experience forgiveness and sharing it with everyone is what we are expected to do it.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “The Lord has made known his salvation.” (Ps.98:2).
As we are all soaked in grace, so we need to nurture peace and forgiveness in us and all whom we meet.
The Gospel reminds us that we all need to work together burying our egoistic tendencies and make every little effort to bring everyone closer to Christ. For all that we do we need to answer for it. Whatever we do or say are closely watched by God. “This generation will have to answer for it.” None of us can kill the truth and mission of Christ on earth. God’s plan in Christ will be in place whether we choose to support or to suppress. May we be open and generous to God for all that we have received in our life. Have a lovely day. God bless you.
