May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 31st July 2021.
We celebrate the memorial of St Ignatius of Loyola, priest. We thank the Lord for the Society of Jesus and their member for all that they are to the world in imparting knowledge through their education and standing for justice and peace at the grassroots level.
“You shall not cheat one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the Lord your God.” (Lev.25:17). Reverence to God cannot reduce respect for the other human person. No way we can compromise our reverential fear of God by humiliating, and dehumanizing acts to fellow brethren.
The goal in life is to help people around because God himself has helped us when we were in need. “The God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Cor. 1:4).
God desires that humanity care for the others by celebrating a Jubilee Year at every 50th year, that is, after seven cycles of seven years. During this Jubilee year, God wants to empower and entrust the ownership to the poor, the original owner of the land.
But in reality, someone or something try to reduce and seduce our worth by evil means eventually produce what is contrary to our character.
By getting of John the Baptist, Herod could not get rid of his guilt and sin in his life on the contrary he worsened his relationship with God. By speaking ill of others, we cannot convince the other person about our innocence and holiness. We may not be murdering like Herod those people who oppose our way of life and stand in our life rather we might be engaging ourselves in character assassination.
Let us ask the Lord for the courage to keep the dignity of others even when they stand and obstruct our views and likes in our lives.
Have a peaceful day. God bless you.
Lord Jesus be with me to accomplish Your will to serve
