Good morning good people,

May the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 28th October 2024.  We reflect on Ephesians 2:19-22 and Luke 6:12-19

We celebrate the Feast of Saints Simon and Jude the Apostles.  These two are the tenth and the eleventh apostles in the order of the Apostles.  St. Simon the Zealot is the patron of tanners while the Jude is the patron of lost causes.  He is well known as the “saint of last resort,” when every spiritual effort is failed, one could get things done through the unfailing intercession of St. Jude.  St. Jude is venerated as the patron of impossible causes.

Are we aligning or maligning God?

Some people believe that it is charity, and faith could align with God more than anything.  But the readings of the day suggest something more intimate and personal act that each one of us could do that make us more in line with God’s will and ways.

The most important characteristic of an authentic disciple is to be near the Lord, work for Him, and stand by Him in truth, love, and charity.

The experience of God’s call is felt in the moment of prayer.

Unless we are aligned with God, our life structure will be weakened by time.  The Gospel reminds the power of Jesus who spent the quality amount of time with the Father in prayer.  “All in the crowd were trying to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them.” (Lk.6:19).

“Family is not an ideology, but it is a reality,” catechizes Pope Francis.  Family being the main fabric of society, it needs to be aligned with God to live its values to the full.

May the Lord help us align ourselves in prayer so as to be fruitful in every way possible to glorify God.  Jesus spent the whole night in prayer before choosing the twelve apostles.  Let prayer affiliate everything that inflicts us in life.  God bless you.
