Good morning good people, may the Lord give you peace and blessings in the Holy Spirit. It is 12th Jaunary 2026. We reflect on 1 Samuel 1:1-8 and Mark 1:14-20.
Do we bear fruit or remain barren?
On the feast of the Baptism of Jesus (2026), In his angelus, His holiness Pope Leo reminded, “In moments of darkness, Baptism is light; in life’s conflicts, it is reconciliation; at the hour of death, it is the gateway to heaven.”
We step into Ordinary Time with a clear rhythm: Listen, Repent, and Follow to become the person God wants us to be.
No one is outside God’s love or call. However unworthy we feel, we are already chosen. God loves without fatigue and calls without pause; our true response is to recognise and relish that love.
God loves and accepts us as we are. How about us? Do we accept others as they are or as we want them to be?
Like Hannah, we carry barrenness in mind, body, or life—but tears cannot heal it; faith in God’s love can.
Mark’s Gospel asks: Who is Jesus? and Who are His disciples? Jesus continues John’s call to conversion, inviting us to believe the Good News: God is near.
Repentance opens us to discipleship and fruitfulness.
Metanoia is essential to every vocation.
Reflecting Christ, we help others sense God’s presence.
Will we respond today—generously and now?
May the Lord bless to take a moment to listen, repent and follow.
