May the Lord bless you with peace and health.
It is 27th February 2024.
Is it easy to do good or inspiring others to do good?
We reflect on Isaiah 1:10, 16-20 and Matthew 23:1-12.
Doing good is the lifetime task. Without doing good, it is impossible to dialogue with God. Negotiations and endorsements happen with the resources of goodness.
“Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.” (Is.1:17).
The latter one is more challenge than the former. But God demands consistency in what we are and what we do in our life. Learning to do good ceases where there is no obedience to God and the commandments. That is why doing good is lifelong endeavour.
To become good and doing good only during the Lent does not do any good eventually. Repentance is notice in the way we do good to others.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “I will show to the upright the saving power of God.” (Ps.50:23).
Jesus reminds us in the Gospel that all of us in the community to match what we preach.
We need not impress people around in doing good. Our expression of love needs to be noticed by God and benefited by those in need.
Humility is rewarded when we are at the service of humanity. The power is vested on us to do good never to control, boss over, loot and manipulate.
“The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted.” (Mt.23:12). May the Lord continue to bless us without getting bored and tired of doing good.
Have a lovely day. God bless you.
