Good morning good people may the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 03rd January 2022. We reflect on 1 John 3:22 – 4:6 and Matthew 4:12-17, 23-25. We celebrate the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. (HIS) stands for Iesus Hominum Salvator (Jesus, Savior of people). Pronouncing the name of Jesus consciously brings not only miraculous healing and the proximity to God.
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil. 2:10,11)
Let us say a prayer for those who are infected again and going through challenging times during this pandemic. As the pandemic resumes its attack on humanity all over the world, if you are down today with covid, you are not alone, we are with you in our humble prayers. May the Lord strengthen you and grant you good health. May everything go well with you. Let us not be tired of pronouncing the most healing name of Jesus.
The call of repentance voiced out in the wilderness by John the Baptist is now being echoed by Jesus in today’s Gospel. This is call is repeated so many times during the year to stress and remind each one of us to return and place all our trust in God. Yes, times are so hard, disappointing, frustrating with all plans and wishes are tossed and directionless due to all that goes on in and around us right now.
Repentance is the appreciation and acknowledgement of our potential to be the person God wants us to be.
Everything is good indeed, but we need to discern whether it leads us to God or not? May our affiliation to the Holy Name of Jesus bring us the blessings of health and happiness all throughout the day. May God bless you.
