May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
2 Cor 3:4-11 / Matthew 5:17-19
There is something in us that will never disappear and that is what God offers to those who work for God and God’s people.
It is not our personal qualification and merits by which God is glorified but by living the Word of God that never disappears.
God has inscribed the Word of God into our being. St. Paul claims that his qualification to serve comes from God and not by human standard and allocation. However unworthy and sinful we feel today within ourselves, God has chosen us to do good through us, in us and around us. “For if what faded away came with splendour, what is permanent must have much more splendour.” (2 Cor.3:11). We just need to watch our self-righteous attitudes and behaviour as we continue to do good. We build the kingdom of God with the brick of love, unity, peace, mercy, and forgiveness.
Preaching the Word of God does not please God but living the preaching does make God’s countenance fall upon us. “But he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Mt.5:19).
By following the Word of God, we disturb the conscience of the other surely. People may not appreciate us for our faithfulness to the Word of God, but God does. “Love does no harm to a neighbour. Therefore, love is the fulfilment of the law.” (Rom.13:10). When we love God, there is no way we can hate the other. When we feel, we are not loving the other person as we supposed to, then we are truly having some elements that destroy the efforts of loving God.
Life is a short spell. Let us not spill it over hatred, indifference, and unforgiving attitudes. Let us not forget at any point in life what St. Paul taught us: “We are the administrators of this new covenant, which is not a covenant of written in letters but of the Spirit: the written letters bring death, but the Spirit gives life.” May you be filled with peace and blessings. Have a peaceful day. God bless you.
