Prayer unties the knots of life and ties a bough in relationships

May the Lord bless you with grace, peace, and blessings in the Holy Spirit. It is 8th January

May the Lord bless you with grace, peace, and blessings in the Holy Spirit.

It is 8th January 2022.  We reflect on 1 John 5:14-21 and John 3:22-30.

“If we ask anything according to God’s will God hears us.” (1 Jn.5:14).  “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.” (Jn.3:27).  Prayer unties the knots of life and ties a bough in relationships.

Hearing evil is so unfortunate and unavoidable these days.  But it is indeed an opportunity to pray.  If we happen to hear about someone fallen in sin, we are entrusted with some painful story about someone and so we are to whisper a healing prayer for the person.  Praying for others is also a form of communication with them.

We live in a world that demands so much from us, but God demands nothing from us.  Our love for God is in our prayers for us and others.  Our complacency, lethargy and uninterested in personal prayer are the signs we do not love God and have no quality time with God.

We may have issues with the church and no way we can justify our issues with God.  Even if we have issues with God and we are resentful of God, we have the right to as we are all children of God and potentially it can become a prayer.  “The wish to pray is a prayer in itself,” says Georges Bernanos.

Jesus as a man was inspired and pulled towards John the Baptist all due to his resilience in faith, simple life, and humility towards the Son of God.  “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (Jn. 3:30).  By giving the space that belongs to Jesus in our life, we can never lose anything.  By constantly creating that connection with Jesus, we truly grow up and communicate with God.  May the Lord bless you abundantly.
