May the Lord bless you with grace, peace, and blessings in the Holy Spirit.
It is 11th January 2022.
We reflect on 1 Sam 1:9-20 and Mark 1:21-28.
Misinterpretation and interruptions of the moments of prayer cannot suppress the flow of blessings. “Go in peace; the God of Israel grant the petition you have made to him.” (1 Sam.1:17).
Prayer of petitions are not formal and scripted but spontaneous and soul-stirring and God loves them so dearly. God loves to listen to us no matter what we go through in our life. It is such a type of prayer that allows us to identify the presence and pressure of evil in our lives and around us.
Whether it is the barrenness or satanic attack, God assures God’s presence and healing through Jesus in the milieu of prayer. God could not refuse the prayer of petition of Hanna even though she knew that she was barren for a long time, yet she persisted in asking. In the story of casting the evil from the possessed person, Jesus took the initiative even though he did not or could not ask for healing. Some of the married exhausted praying for children and are now on the verge of giving up, and many others who are abused by the power of the devil believe that it is the waste of time to pray due to delay in getting what they have prayed for.
Prayer is not merely getting what desire for life, but it is the inner power of knowing, loving, and accepting the plan or the will of God. God never denies anything we ask but God offers us all that is good for our happiness.
The admiration of people for the authority of Jesus and the fear of the devil brought out the divine side of Jesus. God sees us as we are before God even when the world could tag us with evil or seemingly drunk.
May the Lord continue to help us pray even when our resources have dried up. God bless you.
