Good morning good people,
May the ascended Lord bless you with peace and health.
It is 16th May 2024.
We reflect on Acts 22:30, 23:6-11 and John 17:20-26.
The first reading describes the trial of St. Paul in front of the tribunal of Jerusalem. He tactfully handled the case with prudence and presence of mind.
His explanations of his case brought a fight between Sadducees and Pharisees. Sadducees did not believe in life after death while Pharisees believed in resurrection, angel and spirits.
God rescued him from the trial and had provided him a passage of safety.
“Courage, you have borne witness for me in Jerusalem, now you must do the same in Rome.” (Acts.23:11).
In the Gospel, we encounter Jesus prays for unity quoting the unity between the Father and Him.
Our witnessing becomes visible and meaningful only when we live in unity and charity with the other believers.
Divided and fanatic Christians are contrary to the basic message of the Gospels. Jesus invokes the Father twice in His prayer.
Jesus is our intercessor to the Father.
He intercedes for all the believers to worship God in unity and love.
May the Lord bless you to connect with others in love and in unity.
Have a good day.
