Good morning, Good People,

May the Lord bless with peace and blessings in the Holy Spirit.  It is 14th October 2025.  We reflect on Romans 1:16-25 and Luke 11:37-41. We celebrate the memorial of Saint Callistus, Pope, Martyr.

Saint Callistus, Pope and Martyr encourages us: “The faith of the Church shines most brightly when mercy triumphs over judgment and love purifies what law alone cannot cleanse.”

Our inner purity is the criterion for a profound relationship with God.

Without faith, no one can be saved. It is the necessary condition for our salvation. Having known, heard, and seen the works of God in and around our life, we are inspired again and again to trust Him. It is a childlike confidence that God cares for and loves us as we are, and through this, faith is infused into our hearts.

Our faith in God is enriched and fulfilled in Jesus, the Only Son of God.   (Galatians 2:16)

Forgetting God intentionally, willfully, and knowingly is a sin. It is when we forget God conveniently that we become haunted by evil and enslaved by lust. It is a vicious circle into which every human being is drawn once they deny, refuse, or fail to acknowledge the presence of God in their life.

Unstoppable and addictive lustful pleasures are signs that we have a deeper issue in our belief in God. Many of us end up worshipping, adoring, and believing in created things while forgetting—or not prioritizing—God in our lives.

“Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator.” (Romans 1:25)

We tend to give importance to appearance—the surface, the peripheral, the observable. Yet, Truth resides in the depth, in the unseen presence and acts of God. Just like the Pharisees in today’s Gospel, we often spend our lives beautifying the outside while leaving the inside invaded by sin, lust, greed, and selfishness.

Almsgiving and charity purify our hearts. May the Lord help us to trust Him in all that we do and say so that we may become truly charitable to others.  God bless you.
