It is 13th November 2020.
The readings are from 2 John 4-9: and the Gospel from Luke 17:26-37.
Our hearts are the school of love. Our families are the universities for loving hearts. No one needs to be taught how to love. It is all right within everyone as God created and infused it for good. We have the power to increase love the way we relate or to disconnect ourselves with our selfish choices. The inner script we all have within is already uploaded by God and therefore we just need to listen and make it available to the humanity with our merciful and charitable ways.
St. John reminds us that unless we listen to the Word of God, we cannot abide in God’s love. The fullness and fruitfulness of human love is demonstrated in the way we are generous in responding to God’s Word. There is an aura around people who love selflessly. When such things are noticed by the humanity, God is so pleased with our lives.
“Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it, does not have God; whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” (2 Jn. v9).
The responsorial Psalm cements our love, “Happy are they who follow the law of the Lord.” (Ps. 146:5).
We are warned by the Gospel that we need to be prepared to face the end in front of the Son of God whether it is personal or as the entire humanity. The end of our life is inevitable, yet it can be made plausible and peaceful if we have taken the Word of God and tried our best giving life to it by our charitable living. Is our life in order or out of order in relation to loving others? There is no way we can escape or take a detour in facing the Lord. Only in loving, we become truthful to be the person God wants us to be. Let us continue honouring the presence of God by acknowledging the divine presence in us and others. Have a lovely day. God bless you.
