May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 05th November 2021.
We reflect on Romans 15:14-21 and the Gospel of Luke 16:1-8.
Life is all about meaning-making in our life and others. It is not enough we become honest and trustworthy in front of God but make our contributions towards others to be “an acceptable offering, made holy by the Holy Spirit”.
In life we see, many are not so much disturbed when they begin to abuse the benevolence and generosity of others. Some of us only think about our good, happiness and benefits and so we go to the extent of cheating others and dancing to the tunes of those who are holding positions and having influences.
We are confused mostly with what is lasting with everlasting, permeant with transient, challenges with problems, persons with things. Just like St. Paul, we all need to know the goal of our life, the purpose of journey and fruitfulness of service. Sharing with the one what we have experienced in Christ Jesus is the goal of our life and reaching out to the needy, the poor and the vulnerable people, and serving beyond our sanctuary and altar. “Those who have never been told of him shall see, and those who have never heard of him shall understand.” (Rom.15:21).
Our intentions and motives are displayed in our silent service to the suffering humanity. To be dishonest and wasteful is not a virtue. He is not praised for his dishonesty but for the way he took advantage of the opportunity opened before him for securing his future. The Gospel teaches us to learn from this steward for using money to gain friendship as security for his future. So, we all share our resources with those who have not heard of Christ and Heaven. Our generosity will be rewarded by God when we are faced with God on the last judgement. There are millions of opportunities to serve, share and be spiritually offered to us by God. Leading someone through our charity, a simple smile and unadvertised sanctity are that God wants us to take advantage of the moments given to us. Reminding and refreshing our memories time and time again the way we bring someone closer to the Lord is much needed for our spiritual growth. We all need to go beyond our benefits, personal advantages, and gain merits for ourselves. May the Lord enrich our hearts with God’s mercy and love to make a difference in someone less fortunate than us. God bless you.
