It is 14th April 2021.
The readings are from Acts 5:17-26; and the Gospel from John 3:16-21.
God will go to any extent to bring us out of the prison we are in. It is our choices and greed put us in the prison of sin, sickness, shame, and selfishness while evangelising the Good News brings us out of all kinds of prison. Speaking and living for Christ and the values of the Kingdom of God can put us into prison and peril, but the missionary zeal for spreading the love of God manifested in Jesus, the risen Lord brings us closer to the altar of mercy and forgiveness.
“Look, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!” (Act.5:25).
In life, we might have put some people in prison emotionally, and some other people could have locked us in relational prison under the pretext of love. We all put ourselves into spiritual prison when we have closed all options of love and forgiveness. Getting angry, being upset, and hating the loved ones for what they have done to us keep us locked in such prisons we have made for ourselves and inflict this punishment on ourselves when God wants to set us free from the past painful memories.
The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “The Lord hears the cry of the poor.” (Ps.34:7).
The most inspiring and beautiful the sentence of the entire Bible is the one we read as the Gospel today. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” (Jn.3:16). God never abandons us and allow us to rotten in any situation rather God rushes to release us from all that we are going through. Our faith in the risen Lord is the light of our life that will make us come out of all that this dungeon, dark and hidden things of our life. May We continue to bless us to trust the Lord to live in truth and spirt. Have a good day.
