May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 26th July 2021. We celebrate the memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
One quality we all can acquire from our grandparents is that of their patience in dealing with the most challenging issues of life. We are living in a world that expects us to do things efficiently not erroneously. We wish to take a detour when it comes to facing the situations alone and make it happen. Hence, we end up hurrying, forcing, manipulating, deviating from the source.
Are we rushing for answers in life? To find the answers we wish to have, we create petty gods and eventually forget the creator. Life is indeed a mystery that unfolds without inducing anything forcefully but in a patient and persistent handling it with care.
Impatience destroys the fabrics of our spiritual life. people of Israel lost their patience to seeing Moses who went to obtain the commandments from God. Since the delays, people presumed him to be dead, they demanded something to hold on to face life situations. They ended up creating a molten calf and began worshiping. Departing from God who brought them from Egyptian slavery, angered God, and Moses. In times of struggles and peril even in all the situations, we need to keep God and all that God has done in our life. We too may have created by now so many petty gods during this pandemic and in a situation such as the closure of churches and reaching out is restricted. It is time to check our spiritual and material closet, identify the false and petty gods and destroy them.
Jesus too elaborates the process of growth is inevitable in mustard seed, and leaven. Our patient participation in the process of growth makes it pervasive and pertinent goodness to spread all over.
Let us not take patience, tolerance, and forgiveness of God for granted and do whatever we like. May we learn to be patient in dealing with life and its challenges. May God reward you.
