May the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is on 10th October 2022. We reflect on Galatians 4:22-24, 26-27, 31 – 5:1 and Luke 11:29-32.
Never submit to the slavery of sin because we are freed by Christ forever.
Sin makes us barren spiritually. Constantly living in sin forces us to undermine the power of the Holy Spirit we are endowed with the Sacrament of Baptism and Confirmation. St. Paul convinces that the Christians are the legitimate free heirs of Abraham, and the children of Jerusalem are the offspring of the slave girl, Hagar. “So then, friends, we are children, not of the slave but of the free woman.”
The problem of sin will never end. We overcome one sin and fall into another. Yet, we do not realize that we have the potential to overcome all that dashing and crashing our souls. Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh as Solomon, the symbol of wisdom for the people of Israel. But Jesus claims in the Gospel that He is the sign for this generation to empower and enlighten us to believe and behave like children of God. “For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so the Son of Man will be to this generation.”
We are indeed privileged to be the children of God through the sacrifice of Jesus and so may we behave responsibly. “Something greater than Solomon and Jonah is here!” May you have a good day.
