Good morning, good people,
May the Lord give you peace and blessings in the Holy Spirit.
It is 8th September 2025. We celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Wishing you all a very happy feast of hope through the Blessed Virgin Mary. We are so blessed to celebrate her birthday. Mother Mary was born pure, sinless, immaculate, and without original sin.
The readings are from Micah 5:1-4 and the Gospel of Matthew 1:1-6, 18-23.
Every birth offers hope, but the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary not only brought hope, but also salvation through her only Beloved Son Jesus to the whole world.
St. Augustine of Hippo assures us: “The birth of Mary is the dawn of salvation, for in her appears the one destined to be the Mother of the Savior.”
Mary’s nativity is a feast of hope. In a world wounded by conflict and fear, her birth whispers: “God has not forgotten His people.”
The significance of this feast is to celebrate our faith and hope in Jesus through Mary.
Mother Mary’s birth was humble and less known to humanity, yet fully known by God. The entire universe was waiting for the birth of Mary. Her birth brought the hope of bringing the light of God in the person of Jesus. Her birthday remains remarkable and memorable for all humanity, for through her we have Jesus.
The first reading promises us the birth of the Savior through a person specially favored by God, like Mother Mary. However small and insignificant our beginnings may seem, God still desires to bring Jesus to the world today—just as He brought the historical Jesus through Mary.
The responsorial Psalm proclaims: “I exult for joy in the Lord.” (Ps. 13:1)
The Gospel presents us with the significance of Mother Mary in bringing Jesus as our Savior: “Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us.” (Mt. 1:23)
It is by constant surrender to the will of God that we can encounter and experience Jesus in our lives. Mother Mary surrendered completely to God’s will, even amidst fear and suffering. Her consistent obedience to God’s will made her unique among all people. As we celebrate her birthday, let us try to emulate at least one quality from the life of Mary.
As we honor the birthday of our Blessed Virgin Mary, let us also remember with gratitude those who gave birth to us—our loving parents. May we joyfully accept the will of God in our lives as our Mother Mary did.
Wishing you all a happy feast of Mother Mary, Our Lady of Health. May she bring abundant blessings upon us all. Have a lovely day. God bless you.
