It is 16th April 2021. We celebrate the memorial of St. Bernadette Soubirous to whom Mother Mary appeared 18 times and in one of the visions She revealed to her that “I am the Immaculate Conception.”
The readings are from Acts 5:34-42; and the Gospel from John 6:1-15.
If you have not shared enough, you have not lived enough.
We are here to multiply everything that is entrusted to put in good use for God’s people. There is no miracle of multiplication without sincere sharing.
“If this plan or this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them.” (Acts. 5:38).
Sharing what we have is not for our personal glory and name but for God who entrusted us with those things trusting that we would share them with those in need. We all are time and time again inspired to share. That is not enough. Sharing needs to be like breathing. Life full of sharing is like a person full of blessings.
The responsorial Psalm intercedes, “One thing I seek: to dwell in the house of the Lord.” (Ps. 27:4)
No one can stop doing good when it is done with good intention and without personal gain, agenda, propaganda. As our sharing brings someone closer to the Giver of all gifts, so we come closer to the humanity that is going hungry in our own country, community, and courtyard. The initiatives to provide 100 million food by our government is so inspiring as we have decided to cut short the wastage of the food. We need to take charge of feeding the hungry around without pushing the responsibility to others and blaming the government and leaders always. We have the resources and power to feed the others.
The risen Lord invites us to share and expose our poverty. “Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also, the fish, as much as they wanted. When they were satisfied.” It is our turn to take the loaves and give thanks to God in order to share with those hungry, homeless, and needy people. May the Lord bless each one of you to open your hearts towards the other to participate in the God’s economy of sharing. Have a lovely day.
