May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 14th June 2021.
We reflect from 2 Corinthians 6:1-10; and the Gospel from Matthew 5:38-42.
We are here to shine the light of Christ even when we are wounded and overlooked by the people to whom we serve.
We have no reason to waste the goodness and generosity infused by God. There is a sense of urgency during this unprecedented time, and at all times do not go after praise, appreciation, and recognition. We need build spiritual character that motives us to withstand and persevere the mercilessly and uncharitably violent winds of pains, sufferings of all kinds.
St. Paul encourages to demonstrate our faithfulness in Christ by being a humble and unexpecting servant. “In an acceptable time, I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.” (Is 49:8). To be truthful and honest to the core to ourselves is the basis for all happiness. Let us not be tired and disappointed proving ourselves worth to the others. The moment we forget that we are the sacred space where God wants to have an eternal abode, we need to clear up the space constantly that could accommodate God as well as those who have difficulty with God.
By all means, we need to live a life that pleases God and to protect ourselves from the intense attacks on our work. This all possible when we give without expecting anything from anyone even to the extent of depriving ourselves and making some sacrifices. It is better not to give the leftovers to the others.
Jesus wants us to be the models and examples of selfless givers. “Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.” (Mt.5:42). Only in giving we can show the world that we believe in the One who gave everything for the entire humanity. We may not touch the hearts of those who mock, criticise, and attack us when we give but we are sure to behave the way God wants us to be and that brings blessings. May the Lord give us the courage to give such a way that reminds the world that we are here to serve and share all what we are entrusted with. Have a day of generosity. May God bless you.
