We reflect on 1 John 4:7-10 and Mark 6:34-44.
The origin of love and the original love is from God. Love is the spectacle by which we see God in others. Christ magnified God’s love by His only sacrifice on the Cross. Jesus is the description of God’s ultimate and utmost love ever demonstrated.
Unbiased, uncalculated, unaltered love is the prescription of God’s total giving in healing the wounds of sin on humanity. The measure of God’s love is displayed to the full in the person of Jesus, divine and human.
Someone somewhere is in need of our love as we are all in need of God’s love always. To love we do not quantity but quality. To love means to dissolve oneself in the density of emotions with actions.
To feel the pulse and the hunger of heart, soul and mind in the other is the profound expression of love. By giving, we receive from every side just not for today and the days to come. Inner hunger is satisfied with intensified and intimate love without lust. We all have fallen short of the infused love even when we unconsciously deprive ourselves to reciprocate with others.
We all can feed the hunger of love around by sharing whatever little we have. Human contribution however small and insignificant turns to be remarkably reimbursing the debts of doubts, and deeds when placed in the hands of Jesus. In feeding, we bring someone closer to love both divine and human circle that embraces the other with the mantle of satisfaction. Jesus said, “You give them something to eat.” (Mk.6:37).
May the Lord help us love others as God has loved us through Jesus. God bless you.
