However young we may be, we are not exempted from being an example to others in speech and conduct

May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 16th September 2021.

May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 16th September 2021.

We reflect on 1 Tim 4:12-16 and the Gospel of Luke 7:36-50.

We celebrate the memorial of Saints Cornelius, pope, and Cyprian, bishop, martyrs.

Are we agile or fragile? How do we behave and react when we are challenged and attacked? Timothy and Jesus are being attacked by the community and onlookers for the person as they are. We can only respond to those mean people by constantly being examples of love, purity, and faith.

We are gently reminded from the first reading that we cannot neglect the grace and power God that is bestowed on us. Since we tend to forget it, we get into trouble especially when sarcastically and maliciously attacked for being good, kind, generous and forgiving.

However young we may be, we are not exempted from being an example to others in speech and conduct. (1 Tim.4:12).

“As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” (Ps.103:12).

Guest at home is God at home.

The love we show to Jesus rewards us with forgiveness of sins. Our love is the consequence of forgiveness. Whenever we feel we are not forgiven by God, we need to check out the intensity and quality of our love towards God. It is by recognizing and acknowledging the love of Christ, we are empowered to forgive others.

The woman in the Gospel had her way of loving that brought her forgiveness, grace, and peace. We need to identify our ways of loving to enjoy the blessings of Jesus in our life. Forgiveness is for all no matter how bad we are in front of society and our life.

The woman in the house of Pharisee, though uninvited showed the extravagant way of loving Jesus, intruding yet she knew the way to serve and love Him that pleases the Lord.

May our actions speak louder than words. One French mystic worded appropriately: “some things can only be seen through eyes that have been filled with tears.”

Have a day full of blessings. God bless you.
