Good morning, good people! May the Lord give you peace, health, and happiness in the Holy Spirit during this year of Jubilee.

It is 9th April 2025. We reflect on Daniel 3:14–20, 24–25, 28 and John 8:31–42.

Can Truth be the light of our lives?

Pope Benedict XVI encourages, “Truth is not determined by majority vote. Following Christ means going against the tide.”

A wise man gave a boy a lamp and said, “It will only light your path if you walk in the dark.” At night, the boy walked with the lamp held high. Others mocked him, saying, “There are easier, brighter ways.” Still, he walked alone. By dawn, he reached a sign: “Welcome to the Land of Truth.” Looking back, he saw only fog. The lamp hadn’t just shown the way—it had protected him.

God never forgets those who remember Him faithfully. Life isn’t always easy or smooth. There will be times when we’re pressured to compromise our beliefs—whether for acceptance, success, or power.

Yet, true freedom and peace can only be found by walking in the light of truth and faith in God. Temptations, failures, losses, and pain cannot and should not separate us from God.

If we decide to go through life’s trials with unwavering faith, our struggles become sacred paths to encountering God’s presence. Truth is not something we invent—it is something we discover and live through our relationship with Christ.

Without truth in our hearts and faithfulness in our lives, we cannot truly know or worship God. In the first reading, we hear of the three young men thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to worship a false god.

They were not afraid of death because they knew the truth of the living God. Their trust in God made them untouchable by the flames of the furnace, and the presence of “one like a Son of God” walked with them.

No furnace of pride, power, or persecution can harm those who walk with truth. As the Psalm echoes: “To you be glory and praise forever!” (Daniel 3:52)

In the Gospel, Jesus tells us plainly: “If you remain in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31–32)

God’s Word is not just information; it’s transformation. When we allow the Word to penetrate our lives, we are freed from lies, sin, and fear. Jesus doesn’t offer temporary comfort—He offers lasting freedom.

That lamp is God’s Word, and the darkness is the world’s confusion. Only by holding onto truth can we walk forward and find freedom. Let us not fear the furnace of lies, but instead fill our hearts with the fire of truth.

Let’s stay rooted in the Word of God, where freedom, peace, and grace abound. May God bless you and keep you courageous in truth. Have a wonderful day!
