Good morning good people, may the Lord give you peace and blessing in the Holy Spirit. It is 06th January 2026. We reflect on 1 John 4:7–10 and Mark 6:34–44
His holiness Pope Leo teaches us, “Only what frees and saves us can come from God.”
God’s love finds its full bloom in the miracle of charity. What brings about this miracle is not what we hold in our hands, but what we carry in our hearts. From the beginning, God remains love—unfailing, patient, never exhausted. Our love falls short; God’s never does. This love was revealed fully when God sent the only Son, Jesus Christ, as the atoning sacrifice for our sins: “Not that we loved God, but that God loved us” (1 Jn 4:10).
If God is love, then love must move us toward charity. Love without charity, truth without justice, peace without commitment, and words without action remain hollow. God is the source of all love; without drawing from Him, no one can truly give love to another. Human love is beautiful but limited. God’s love is a living spring that never runs dry.
In the Gospel, Jesus multiplies bread by first multiplying compassion. He invites the disciples—and us—to participate. Generosity flows only from hearts rooted in God. Prayer alone is not enough; love must become concrete in sharing, caring, forgiving, and lifting burdens.
Whenever we become stingy, greedy, or indifferent to suffering, we drift from the source of love. May the Lord stretch our hearts, renew our faith in love’s power, and make us living signs that God still cares—through us.
