May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 2nd March 2024.
We reflect on Micah 7:14-15, 18-20; and the Gospel from Luke 15:1-3, 11-32.
Is God away from us or are we away from God?
God does not remember our sins for ever. God forgives us and throws away all our sins in the depths of the sea. Our God is God of mercy and compassion.
To experience the mercy and forgiveness of God, we just need to come back to Father’s house.
“Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of your possession? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in showing clemency.” (Mic. 7:18,19).
God is not interested in counting our sins. But surely, God tracks and rewards all the good works we do. God is faithful in showing mercy and forgiveness.
We are so precious in the eyes of God and so God loves, forgives, and shows mercy.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “The Lord is kind and merciful.” (Ps.102:8).
In the Gospel, we reflect the greatest short story ever told in the human history that moves, touches our hearts pointing out that forgiving heart of a loving Father who loves us beyond the sins.
The story brings out how much God cares for us when we have chosen to live a life of sins and choose to forget God. We cannot continue to live in sin and forgotten by God.
The Spirit of God will examine the depths of our hearts and brings us closer to the heart of God.
God is more than willing to embrace us however dirty and smelly we could be. God is more than generous to clothe us and fill us with the necessary graces and blessings if only we repent and return to the home of our Father.
Many are not going to be happy about our coming back to the Lord, yet we must make efforts to leave the life of sin, lies and pretention.
God desires us our returning to the Home of God during this Lent. Can we come back to our senses to realize that our living is not pleasing to the Lord.
Let us make the defining moment during this Lent to return to the Lord no matter how far from the Home of the Father.
Our negligence, our carefree lives and wilful forgetfulness of God’s mercy and forgiveness makes us to go tepid in our spiritual lives.
We begin to relax to an extend and live a life of lies that is justified by comparing with the other people.
We all are far from the Home of loving and forgiving Father. God is there for us waiting with open arms.
When are we returning to the Father’s Home?
May you have a good day. God bless you.
