May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 19th July 2021.
We reflect on Exodus 14:5-18 and the Gospel of Matthew 12:38-42.
Our doubts cannot dump our faith.
Obstacles, obstructions, hurdles, humps are bound to come in all our life journey. Just like the people of Israel who were about to witness God’s mighty power through God’s servant Moses, we too at times hesitate and hurry to surrender back to the ones from whom God wanted to liberate.
How do we handle when faced with obstacles in life?
Forgetfulness of what God has done increases the possibility of mistrusting and undermining the power of God.
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.” (Ex.14:14). During this pandemic, as we are about to face the mammoth third wave, we need to surrender to the Lord. “Be still and know that I am God.” (Ps.46:10).
The people of Israel were not ready to accept and trust the plan of God to go through a long, distressing, and fearsome journey. When they saw the army of Egyptians, they lost focus on God. without trusting in God, we cannot overcome anyone chasing after us to destroy and destruct us. As God did to the people of Israel to cross the sea of suffering, slavery, and sin, so God is more than willing to stretch the healing Hands upon us as we are about to cross the sea of pandemics.
It is indeed a challenge and difficult thing trust the Lord when we are faced with no other options except facing the inevitable. God cares for us and carefully protecting all of us who have placed our entire trust in God.
Jesus presents us with two great personalities of faith namely Solomon and Jonah to emulate their unwavering trust in God. Those who accepted them did not ask for proof to believe. “There is something greater than Jonah here; something greater than Solomon here.” (Mt.12:41). God is willing to perform all that we wish to have in our life even when we are filled with ingratitude and stubborn attitudes. To believe we do not need proofs, yet testimonies of faith enhance our closeness to God. Our doubles standard mindset crushes all fibres of faith.
May we strengthen our faith by remembering all that God has done for us. Have a day filled with faith and trust in the Lord. God bless you.
