We reflect on James 2:1-9 and Mark 8:27-33.

We favour someone on the opinions and judgements we made by comparing with the others.

Favouritism is a slow poison injected in the form of love to pollute faith.

Our confession of faith is not splashed out of insights or outbursts of emotions, but it surges in a profound and truthful encounter with a person of Christ Jesus.

Unpacking pain patiently energizes our quest for happiness a reality.  The rich are not independent without depending on the poor.  Segmenting the poor and suppressing the painful cry of them intentionally, culturally, relationally, we choose to silence the whispers of God.  When the pride and arrogance of riches and wealth penetrate the mind, it desecrates the altar of love and faith in human hearts.  Illtreating someone according to the QR code of the status, we intend to eject the image and presence of God in our worship places, and milieu of human encounters.  Favouring the rich and refusing to respect the dignity of the poor is

How do our ushers, and ministers welcome someone into our institution whether it is commercial, religious or in a family?

St. James addresses the issue of ill-treating people according to what they have rather than for what they are.  Failure to find God in the poor is not due to lack of faith but lack of love towards the poor, the mirror, and the reflection of God.  “

May we treat people with respect and dignity, not with contempt, and nepotism.  May God bless you.
