May the Ascended Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 18th May 2021.
We reflect from Acts 20:17-27 and the Gospel from John 17:1-11.
Farwell is painful becomes joyful when we have completed what was entrusted to us. There is no need to fear when people need to move from our life, work, and ministry. It is for their good and for the common good. However emotional and painful it might be there is a joy at the end towards a new future and possibilities with the arrival of another person.
Just St. Paul we need to share the Good News and never lead anyone away from the Lord even if the listeners take their sweet time to accept and believe. Once we have accomplished the task, we need to move to the places where the Holy Spirit leads us through the Church, and the elders. If the going seems to be tough, we need to walk with the Spirit of God.
“I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house, as I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.” (Acts.20:20).
The priestly prayer of Jesus invokes the Father to glorify Him as He is preparing to leave the world. The last words of St. Paul and Jesus evokes lot of emotions and spiritual empowerment through the Holy Spirit. As they glorified God by their life, commitment, and faithfulness so it is now our turn to do without being unduly and excessively attached to people and places we are sent to serve. Please remember those who are in pain and having breathing troubles due to covid-19, and in wars and natural calamities around the world. May God bless you all. Have a peaceful day.
