Good morning, Good People,

May the Lord give you peace and blessings in the Holy Spirit.  It is 16th October 2025.  We reflect on Romans 3:21-30 and Luke 11:47-54.  We celebrate the memorial of St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, who directs us: “Let us love the Sacred Heart of Jesus and all will become easy to us, for His love will make everything sweet.”

We reflect on Romans 3:21-30; and the Gospel from Luke 11:47-54.

Segregating, separating, dividing, and disfiguring people directly oppose our faith in Jesus.

Our witness or testimony of faith must be demonstrated in our unwavering trust in Him.  Our actions are to bear the name of Jesus.

Merciful acts and charity should never be used for self-glorification or gratification; rather, they must be seen in the light of faith.  No one earns faith through good works.  Faith comes from God as a gift through Jesus Christ.

St. Paul emphasizes that we are justified by faith in Jesus.  Everyone has fallen into the vicious circle of sin; we are all guilty before God.  With human power alone, no one can be saved.  Our good works add nothing to the greatness of God; but our faith in God enhances and enlivens our works for His glory.

It is Christ Jesus who has made us right before God.  Through His one sacrifice, God sees us differently and has made us just through Him.  Jesus, by His sacrifice on the Cross, bought us back from the slavery of sin and redeemed us all.

“We are justified through the free gift of His grace by being redeemed in Christ Jesus, who was appointed by God to sacrifice His life so as to win reconciliation through faith.” (Rom 3:22)

The Responsorial Psalm proclaims, “With the Lord there is mercy, and fullness of redemption.” (Ps 129:7)

In explaining the Gospel of the day, a missionary disciple cannot be closed, hyper-critical, or destructive, but must instead embrace the universal salvific plan of God through Jesus — being open, encouraging, and constructive in relating with others.  We must never settle for being nominal believers who are self-righteous.

Faith is not about following a list of laws or pious observances; faith is about love — about how we relate with God by relating with one another.

May we bear witness to our faith through love.

May you have a blessed day.

May God bless you.
