Are our hearts ready to receive the Lord Jesus in our hearts

May the Lord grant grace, peace, and ease in everything through the Holy Spirit. It is 24th December

May the Lord grant grace, peace, and ease in everything through the Holy Spirit.

It is 24th December 2021.

It is just a day to go for Christmas.  We reflect on 2 Sam 7:1-5, 8-12, 14, 16 / Luke 1:67-79.

Everything for Christ is set to go on display indeed.  Are our hearts ready to receive the Lord Jesus in our hearts too?

Building a house for the Lord is longing for so many of us.  We love to decorate a beautiful and colourful house for the Lord as we are about to celebrate Christmas.  Placing a crib in our homes is the oldest tradition in the church filled with the statues of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph with all animals, shepherds, the Magi along with a Christmas tree.

In the first reading, King David shared his guilt and negligence to prophet Nathan in not providing a house for the ark of the covenant.  And so, God asked the prophet, Nathan, to encourage King David to build a house for the Lord.  In turn, God promises to put the house of David in order as he wanted to build a house for God.

The song of Zacharia invites us to believe in the promise of God that we have someone who will lead in light and bring us closer to the mercy of God.  “By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high will break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Lk.1:79).

May we prepare a worthy abode, God, to be born in our body.  “Brothers and sisters, I ask you from my heart to give your bodies to God because of His loving-kindness to us.  Let your bodies be a living and holy gift given to God.  He is pleased with this kind of gift.  This is the true worship that you should give Him.” (Rom.12:1).  May God bless you.
