Good morning good people,
May the Lord give you grace and peace in the Holy Spirit. It is 19th December 2023. We reflect on Judges 13:2-7, 24-25 and Luke 1:5-25.
“God is not looking for great people, but God is looking for people who will realize the greatness of God.”
What is the plan of God for our birth? Why are we here around?
There is a plan and purpose for every birth. No birth is by coincidence or accident. Every birth is the expression of God’s intention having a rippling effect of promoting good and continuation.
God had planned for Samson and John. Good News of birth brings hope amidst hesitation, peace amongst pestilence, joy amidst injustice, faith amidst fear, love amidst memories, and dreams amidst destiny.
The birth of Samson offered hope to the people of Israel to be protected from the Philistines while John the Baptist prepared the people for the coming of the Messiah.
Faith of Manoah and his wife; and Zechariah and Elizabeth are strengthened by the promise of the annunciation and birth of two children.
God can also put us in a mute mode whenever we want God to listen.
If our birth and living do not help others to come closer to God, we leave no legacy and elegance of eminent faith. The difference between Samson and John was in their intention to bring others to God or to themselves.
When God visits us, promises become commitment, fear becomes cheered, disgrace becomes grace, barrenness becomes a blessing, intercessions become interventions and vision becomes a mission.
Are the parents and society forcing their limited plans and programmes on children these days or allowing them to discern the plan of God in their lives?
O Root of Jesse, come. Come into our lives and strengthen our hope amidst hesitation and desperate moments. May we be open to welcoming the Messiah among us. God bless you.
