May the Risen Lord give peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 17th May 2021.
We reflect from Acts 19:1-8 and the Gospel from John 16:29-33.
There are countless proposed prescriptions for happiness in the world and each field suggests and boasts the ways to overcome suffering, pain, and sickness.
But on the contrary, Jesus strengthens us at this painful time of our life as we are in the volcanic eruptions of corona virus swallowing the lives of humanity telling: “In Me you may have perfect peace. In this world you will have suffering. But be courageous and confident; I have overcome the world.” (Jn.16:32,33).
To enjoy this privilege and blessings, we need to move away from ritual of sorrow for sin to worshiping God in spirit and truth. By valuing truth in our lies, we can deal with duplicity, double standard, and fake life. we are all baptised and confirmed in the Holy Spirit, yet we live as though we are not aware of the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in our spiritual endeavours.
“They replied, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” (Acts. 19:2). St. Paul during his third missionary journey introduces the belief in the Holy Spirit to deal with the pain and suffering in life.
As long as, we remain in the love of the Risen Lord, we come into the realm of peace and joy of the Holy Spirit. Whatever happens, we need to remember that Jesus has gone through and overcome the pain, suffering and tribulations. The Risen Lord is with us through the power of the Holy Spirit. May we put our trust in Him in all circumstances. Have a peaceful day. God bless you.
