May the Lord give you grace peace, and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is on 06th December 2022. We reflect on Isaiah 40:1-11 and Matthew 18:12-14.
Is God searching for you?
“God will feed the flock like a shepherd; God will gather the lambs in arms, and carry them in the bosom, and gently lead the mother sheep.” (Is.40:11). God comforts us as a mother to comfort us. It is the unconditional, inclusive, and intimately assuring comfort God offers to all of us. No matter how much we are tossed and turned down by everything that we held so close to our hearts.
Some of us are going through a very painful time with the loss of the significant one in our life. Some others have lost the direction, a passionate job, and much more. The most difficult and unbearable times try to delink our intimate connection the Father who goes out to search for us whatever it takes.
“So, it is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.” (Mt.18:14). His holiness Pope Francis taught us last evening in his angelus, “Let us remember one thing: with Jesus, there is always the possibility of beginning again. It’s never too late. There is always the possibility to begin again. Be courageous. He is near to us, and this is the time of conversion. Everyone might think: “I have this situation inside, this problem that I am ashamed of”. But Jesus is next to you. Begin again. There is always the possibility of taking a step forward. He is waiting for us and never gets tired of us. He never gets tired! And we are annoying, but he never gets tired!” yes, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” (Ps.23:1).
Advent is the time to console people around us. Shepherding allows us to entrust others even when they do not deserve it. Providing security to the vulnerable ones and carrying the weak ones in our hearts and mind.
It is a special time of looking out for those who are lost, the last and long-lasting. It is the duty of each one of us to look for the stray. There is joy in finding the lost ones. In constantly finding the lost ones outside, we are aware of the spaces right within ourselves that are compromised by selfishness and sin. May God grant us a heart full of affection in looking for the other. God bless you.
