Dear People of God,
May the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is on 07th December 2022. We celebrate the memorial of St. Ambrose, Bishop, and doctor of the Church. We reflect on Isaiah 40:25-31 and Matthew 11:28-30.
Are we overburdened or overburnt?
“Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.” (Mt.11:28).
The heaviness and gruesome realities of life make us overburdened, unbalanced, fragmented, and fixated by pain, brokenness, and loss.
Advent is the time to be balanced even when life is not harmonizing.
Rest and restoration are possible only in the spirit, spiritual life, and the Holy Spirit. God promises the people of Israel such rest in the first reading. God is not tired of us. We are rejuvenated by constantly resting our hope on God. A consistent revival is promised in believing in the pinions of God. The energy is revived when we are grateful for the blessings we already enjoy in the Lord.
Complaining, criticizing, and comparing with others are the signs that we are overburdened and burnt out. Unless we come closer to the Lord, we remain where we are. “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt.11:30). May the Lord strengthen us in doing the ministry untiringly. May God bless you.
