May the Lord bless you with grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 02nd September 2022. We reflect on 1 Cor 4:1-5 and Luke 5:33-39.

Patching do not solve a problem; it just saves a situation.

St. Paul invites us not to jump into conclusions and judgement on people before God judges. We all need to offer that to God alone. Hence, let us journey together, planning and working for the upbuilding of the community with all our sins and success. “Therefore, do not pronounce judgment before the time before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart.” (1 Cor.4:4).

No one is condemned to be a failure for life. One single mistake or sin cannot condemn us and throw us away from God. It is God’s grace and mercy allow us to become new and see the same in the others.

Jesus affirms in the Gospel that newness is always possible when we are willing to shed that old, bruised, and broken piece. It does not suit our nature. Getting rid of the old always creates a space in our mind and in the milieu, we are in. Unless and until we dispose the old, whatever the significance attached to that, we do not have the need for the new. To put on Christ, the new wine, we are to do away with the old.

In order to be the messengers of the Good News entrusted to us, we constantly need to discern the will of God. The distance between the listening and living narrowed down constantly. There is no need to prove our goodness and piety before anyone. In putting the new wine into new wine skins, the quality of the skin matters. The Good News keeps its flavour and fragrance in the environment of a good life. May God help us to life a life that inspires others. God bless you.
