Unless we remain watchful, even we are baptized, we might run dry of the oil of faith

May the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 26th August 2022.

May the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 26th August 2022. We reflect on 1 Corinthians 1:17-25 and Matthew 25:1-13.

Most of our lifetime is spent passing judgements on others and the way they live. But God does not judge and condemn us as we do to one another. On the contrary God chooses and God takes the side of the weak, the broken, the sinful, the voiceless and the marginalized. “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Cor.1:25).

We at times become slaves to our judgements, perception and forget the Wisdom of the Father, who is Jesus Himself. Life is indeed a one-time opportunity to do good. If we miss it, we can remain regretting.

There are two kinds of people we see around us. The ones who use the opportunity for the good of the others and the rest waste by complaining and living in complacency. To accompany the bridegroom, we need to be always alert and vigilant. Procrastination and doing things at the last moment will put us in trouble. The connection with the Lord must be intact in all situations of life. The oil of faith is personal, and it is not available from others when we are in need. Being prepared and docile to the promptings of the Spirit of God help us to be alert. Unless we remain watchful, even we are baptized, we might run dry of the oil of faith.

May our lives be focused on the crucified Christ to recognize goodness in others. It is our bounden duty to keep our lamps burning and allowing the light of Christ shine to the end by doing good works to the end no matter who appreciates and recognizes and rewards us. God bless you.
