May the Lord give grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 19th August 2022. We celebrate the memorial of Saint John Eudes, Priest. We reflect on Ezekiel 37:1-4 and Matthew 22:34-40.

The imbalance in loving God and our neighbour is mostly seen in many of us. Some of us are giving importance to one and neglect the other. Hence, our bones get dried and become lifeless. If the Word of God resuscitates our life, we will be filled with the Spirit of the Lord to please God and serve our fellow brethren without any discrimination.

Ezekiel’s vision of the dry bones offers great hope for all of us no matter how dried and dead our bones are. God can give life and a second chance to all who believe. It reminds us of the second creation story of God breathing God’s Spirit into Adam. It is the promise of God who wants to renew our life.

The Psalmist invites us to give thanks to God: “O give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for his love has no end.”

The greatest commandment to humanity is to love. Loving God and loving our neighbour as we love ourselves. We all need to move from the selfish love of loving ourselves to the selfless love of generosity to God and others.

The more we give ourselves to God and others, the more we remain blessed. God bless you.
