may the Lord fill you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 10th March 2022. We reflect on Esther 4:17 and Matthew 7:7-12.
St. Dominic Savio, who was wrapped in hours of prayer. He called them, “the distraction.” “I can’t do big things. But I want all I do, even the smallest thing, to be for the greater glory of God.”
Many of us have a feeling that God does not listen to our prayer because of one reason or the other. This happens to us when we do not trust the one, we love most. Prayer is a simple endeavour that expresses our trust in God and allows our minds to accept the will of God in life.
We all are familiar with three ways to enrich our spiritual life during Lent. They are prayer, penance and almsgiving. We are invited to reflect on prayer today. The prayer of Queen Esther to protect Jewish people from the enemies, and the encouraging words of our Lord about prayer and
God knows the best for our life. God gives good things to those who ask. Lenten time is to realize our dependence on God. So, prayer is nothing but total dependence on God’s providence.
Our inappropriate and unhealthy intercessions do not spoil the quality of our prayer. We can ask anything we want from God, but God knows the best and only the best to give.
We all want to be independent, and this thirst dies not till we die. Most of us think that to depend on others is immature, and childish.
The psalm beautiful echoes the reading: “On the day I called, you answered me, O Lord.” (138:3). “For the one who asks always receives.”
The most successful person of the town envied by man for his unimaginable performance in his job was asked the secret of his success. Without hesitation, he said that he believed in the secret power of PUSH. Everyone was curious to know about the PUSH. PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS.
If our prayers do not strengthen the fabric of trust in God, it is not worth praying at all. Prayer alone provides a mindset to accept the best offer God alone could give us. Our prayers will be answered when we have met the needs of the others in our life. Ignoring the poor, and the needy around us conveniently either delays or denies our requests. “If you, then, who are evil, know how to give your children what is good, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Hence our relationship with God and one another is the basis for prayer life. May we check our quality of relationship with one another before we attack God for the inactivity and silence. May you have a good day.
