May the Lord give you grace and peace in the Holy Spirit.
It is 19th January 2022. We reflect on 1 Sam 17:32-22, 37, 40-51 and Mark 3:1-6.
Thanking God for all that God has done through me to God’s people until today as I celebrate my 26th sacerdotal ordination day. Kindly whisper a prayer for me today.
God does not require an army to deal with our enemies. God provides means and measures to David to bring down the gigantic Goliath.
“All this assembly may know that the Lord does not save by sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s.” (1 Sam. 17:47).
Every struggle, suffering, challenge, and risk-taking is God’s battle. God has endowed us with all the blessings, skills, prudence, smartness, and persistence to win every situation and be happy. If we have lost or lost something in our lives, we need to examine our trust in God and the place of God in our life. God’s protection, providence and provisions are incomparable to every one of us. Violence in no circumstance can be justified. God does not condone violence to win someone.
A motivational speaker called ten volunteers to come forward to have a game. He gave them a toothpick and a balloon to each one. He instructed them that anyone who has the balloon in their hand at the end of the game is a winner. He whistled to start the game. Everyone was busy breaking the balloon in the hand of the other. In the end, no one had a balloon except the toothpick. To win, there is no need to destroy someone.
In everyone, there is something that gets withered in life whether spiritually, physically, or emotionally. To make it blossomed and fruitful again, we all need the touch of Jesus. Jesus took a firm stand in healing the person in public on a sabbath day. Yes, the Lord would go to any extent to make us well. We just need to stretch our hearts and lives towards Him. “The man with withered hand-stretched it out, and his hand was restored.” (Mk.3:5).
Even if it brings inconvenience to us, we need to be at the beck and call of others in serving. May God bless you.
