Every human birth brings immensely joyful gratitude

may the Lord grant grace, peace, and ease in everything through the Holy Spirit.

It is 22nd December 2021.  We reflect on1 Sam 1:24-28 and Luke 1:46-56.

Every moment we receive praises and recognition in life for anything small or significant, we are to praise God.

Every human birth brings immensely joyful gratitude.  It is God who brings life and take it back.  (1 Sam. 2:6) As life and death belong to God, so between the two belongs to us to be responsible, respectful, resourceful, and resiliently remoulded.  God repeatedly remains to rule every sphere and space of our human existence.

Birth without celebration and gratitude has its shades of willful amnesia of what God has done to the person.

“My heart exults in the Lord; I find my strength in my God.” (1 Sam. 2:1).  “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has looked with favour on the lowliness of his servant.” (Lk.1:46).  Hannah and Mary burst into praises for God in their lives.  God intervened in both women’s life even though one was barren and another virgin.  Though returning the gifts are painful but it is always joyful when we do the Lord.  Both Hanna and Mary returned their sons to the Lord and humanity.

When we wanted something from God, we too have promised to do something.  Have we honoured what we have promised to the Lord?  As long as we know and are aware of our unworthiness and lowliness, we never miss celebrating the occasions of mercy and blessings in life.  As we are so close to Christmas, let us recount the blessings we have received from the Lord and be grateful and joyful.  It is time to give thanks to God and one another for all that we have received so far.  May God bless you.
